In 2008, our story at Errantry Lodge began.
For over a decade, Chin-Nan and Mei-Feng have personally welcomed every traveler who comes from afar.

We believe travel shouldn't be rushed.

Sleep in, ride our free bicycles through the nearby lanes and fields, take a photo you love, and feel the real, everyday Hualien.

🌿 Maybe Errantry Lodge Is for You

Honestly, we're not the cheapest option. If you're just looking for the lowest nightly rate, this probably isn't your answer.

Errantry Lodge is in Hualien City, near the Tzu Chi campus, and suits travelers who love slow travel, couples' getaways, family trips, cycling trips, and anyone hoping to feel Hualien's everyday rhythm up close.

Over the years, we've heard from so many travelers who keep coming back: some stayed with us for the first time over a decade ago, and their kids have grown up since; some have returned more than twenty times; and some say that whenever they think of Hualien, what comes to mind is, "Let's go back and see Errantry Lodge."

⛰️ If Taroko Gorge Has Stayed on Your Mind

If you first fell in love with Hualien because of Taroko Gorge, you might feel, like we do, a little wistful these past few years.

After the April 3rd earthquake, Hualien went through a difficult stretch. The mountains needed time to heal, and the city has been slowly finding its rhythm again. But Hualien still has its mountains, its sea, the sound of wind moving through the rice fields, and plenty of scenery worth exploring slowly. The mountains will stand again — and so will we.

If these past few years you've been telling yourself, "I'll go back to Hualien once Taroko reopens" — the truth is, Hualien has always been here.

Walk down a road you've never taken, visit a small shop that's quietly kept going all these years, cycle along the coast with the sea breeze in your hair, take a walk through the neighborhood
