A Decade of Countless Photos

Guests would ask: I don't really know how to pose...

"Just relax and give me a big smile" — that's the line I've said more than any other.

A newlywed couple from Vietnam came to Errantry Lodge, and the wife wanted maternity photos. She asked for something "a bit more lively."

Sure — we tried every pose we could think of. The best shots, it turned out, came when she forgot the camera was even there.

Between kids, language is never really a problem.

Little Jelly and a doll who didn't speak a word of Chinese still played together, utterly absorbed, no barrier at all. That kind of effortless communication is something we adults almost envy.

Photography has always been one of the main reasons guests come stay with us.

A decade in, though, we realized shooting and then editing all those photos was taking up a lot of time.

These days, if a guest is interested, we'll happily take some photos for them in the courtyard, still with plenty of joy on both sides.

Over the years, there have been countless photos, and countless smiles.

All captured in the most touching moments, and kept as some of our best memories, for each other.
