Many of our guests were still young couples the first time they came — some even still just dating. Every time they returned, they took a photo.
The mountains of Hualien haven't changed. The courtyard at Errantry Lodge hasn't changed. But the children have grown taller, year after year. Until one year, a child stood in front of our photo backdrop in a graduation gown, smiling.
Running a guesthouse, the happiest thing isn't filling every room — it's watching a guest's life unfold, one happy piece at a time.
Like the Ching-Yi family — the first time they came, they were still a couple. Six years later, they came back with two children. Time turned our guests from a couple into parents.
We realized, suddenly, that what we've been keeping isn't just photographs. It's a family, choosing to place its most important moments here.
Thank you for making this your home in Hualien, and for giving Errantry Lodge the confidence to keep on being here.
